Memory Three
(Chapter 1)

Things to Note:

- All names are redacted. However, her adoptive father's title as 'Chairman' will remain. Nicknames will remain as well.
- This memory takes place over an expanded amount of time (two days)

Summary:

- The memory begins with Kaguya on an academy grounds. She's guarding a door and trying to manage a herd of excited female students. They keep crowding in on her

- The door opens and out walks an incredibly beautiful looking group of people. They could be celebrities! They wear uniforms like Kaguya's own, only with reverse colors. Theirs are white while her own is black. The herd of girls crowds forward as she tries to hold them back but alas they overwhelm her and she falls to the ground as they rush forward, and one of the boys cheerfully address them all, calling them cute.

- Suddenly a prince appears! Actually, it's the Senpai who saved her in a different memory. He asks if she is okay and she flusters and blushes, standing up suddenly and proclaiming she's fine. He tells her she's always formal, and she says it's because he saved her life. He explains that the incident was a long time ago so she shouldn't worry about it anymore as he places a hand on her head.

- All at once Rei suddenly appears in her memory. He grabs Senpai's hand and glares, reminding him that class is starting soon. Senpai calls him Mr. Displinary Committee and says he's scary but does proceed to leave, with the rest of the Night Class glaring at him.

- Then she's getting glared at by Rei and accused of sucking up and how she should know the rules. Kaguya pouts, says she knows already that they're different from her, but their conversation is interrupted by the excited shrieks of the fangirls. Rei turns around and shouts, scaring them all into submission, before Kaguya attacks his stomach with a flurry of punches, calling him a jerk and telling him that he was late again so had no right to act all huffy.

- The scene fast-forwards. She's in an office with the chairman (her adoptive father), while Rei goes on to complain how it's ridiculous that the two of them have to watch a bunch of blood-suckers while dealing with fangirls. The chairman sympathizes that it's difficult, so Rei demands that he provide him real help because Kaguya is 'worse than useless'. She immediately protests that she doesn't want to hear that from someone who is late half the time and absent the rest.

- The chairman goes on to explain that it's impossible and can only be them. He explains that they are actually school guardians and that their role is very important for the sake of co-existence between the night class and day class. Then goes on to say it's a thankless job and the hours are bad and no one else would want to do it anyway. He then brags that his adorable daughter and loving son won't let him down, to which Rei punches the desk in, and proclaims that he may have taken care of him but he never became his son. Rei then tells Kaguya to say something since she really is the chairman's adoptive daughter, but she says the night class is doing well and she's just happy to help in the end.

- The chairman is moved by Kaguya's words. He proclaims that she's the only one to understand his pacifist ideals, and that he truly believes that one day vampires and humans will be able to live together peacefully, and that will be accomplished by helping shape the youth. That it's the glory of education and the night class. Rei is obviusly annoyed though, says he's going on patrol and leaves after slamming the door closed.

- The chairman tells Kaguya that he does understand Rei and where he is coming from due to the fact that there are evil vampires out there that will prey on humans, which is why it would be a disaster if the secret of the night class were to be exposed. Kaguya passionately tells him that Kaname would never do anything bad though and that there are plenty of pacifist vampires like him. With a smile, she tells him it'll be okay and to just leave it to the guardians, before cheerfully jumping out the window to go on patrol...

- It cuts to the next morning. She's abruptly woken only to realize she's in trouble with the teacher and has detention. So does Rei. Apparently, this is a common theme. Her friend tells her it's her own fault for sleeping during the day and suggests it's something only a vampire would do. Kaguya panics, asking her if she really believes in vampires and seems relieved when she says, of course, she doesn't. Kaguya begs her friend to go to detention with her because she doesn't want to be alone with the bad-tempered, flaky, gloomy and depressing Rei. In annoyance, he tells her that he can hear her, but she counters by sticking her tongue at him and telling him she said it because he could hear her. Her friend tells her they are a perfect match and abandons her to her fate.

- After detention, Kaguya is up on one of the roofs. She spots her Senpai while he's in class and can't help but become blushy, before Rei cuts in, asking how her hero is doing. She sputters and explains that it wasn't like she was just looking at him, but that everything is going well and they probably don't even need to be there. Rei is clearly annoyed and says that he knows the chairman believes they are pacifists and but that he doesn't believe that for one minute, and that there is no way he'll ever let his guard down. He continues by saying he doesn't understand how the chairman could ever cooperate with them and that vampires are actually just beasts who look human so that they can better hunt down their food. After that, he leaves, telling her he's going to patrol.

- Kaguya is left to her own thoughts for a while. She sighs after a bit and that's when she notices some day class students breaking curfew. She leaps off the roof, grabs hold of a tree, and swings down to land in front of them. Once there she demands that they tell her their names and class. It's strictly prohibited to wander around after dark and it's dangerous, so she orders for them to go back to their rooms. The girls that Yuuki chastises are annoyed with her. They tell her that they just came to take some photos of the night class but that's when she notices blood. One of the girls is bleeding. In a panic, Kaguya tells them that this isn't good and they need to hurry. That's when she suddenly senses something...

- Yuuki shifts, pulling a weapon from a hidden strap upon herself. It extends into that of a silver staff. She demands to know who is there and moves to swing, but a hand stops the weapon before it can strike. It seems to spark a little beneath his touch, and tall night class member smiles, telling her he didn't expect anything less from one of the chairman's foundlings. The girls are elated and squeal, while the handsome, shorter member of the two explains that they just smelt blood and so had decided to go look around. How mean, he tells her, especially because he had come to see her. He sighs...inhaling the scent on the air and explains that it's such a wonderful smell. Kaguya tells him that if he even tries to lay a hand on those girls she won't forgive him and the girls seem excited that they apparently smell good.

- Very sly, the shorter vampire has slipped past the first one. One hand has taken hold of her weapon while the other reaches out to stroke her hand upon it. He asks if she had fallen earlier, because... the scent he was talking about earlier... was her own blood. He squeezes her hand until she's forced to let go of the weapon. She's alarmed, and tells him thanks, but....but clearly, she's not interested in whatever he has planned. This doesn't deter him, however. He's too strong for her to pull away, and he leans down, lingering over the injury. He looks up at her with a grin and tells her she's tempting him, before sinking his fangs into her palm. The day class students panic, realizing that he's a vampire and eventually faint. But the vampire isn't done yet. Kaguya demands that he stop, but he drags her to him and tells her that he wants more, and would like to take it from her neck. She protests more, telling him no...

- Before the vampire can do anything more, suddenly Rei is there, with a gun pressed against the vampire's temple. His arm remains around Kaguya as Rei tells him that drinking blood on school grounds is strictly prohibited. He goes on to say he had become drunk on the scent of blood and revealed his true nature. Kaguya immediately tells Rei not to do anything, but the vampire reveals he has already had a taste of her... and Rei shoots. It... seemingly misses (intentionally? ). The vampire is surprised and says that it was scary while Kaguya calls him an idiot, attempting to take the gun away and demanding to know why he actually shot. Rei simply glares over atop her and at the vampires.

- The taller vampire looks up and it seems the gun has destroyed part of the tree, still place where it struck, shining. Suddenly, Kaguya's Senpai appears. He explains that the weapon is called Bloody Rose and quite dangerous to vampires because it was designed to kill creatures like them. He grabs the vampire that had attacked Kaguya by the collar and assures them that he will deal with them and that the chairman will need a full report. He asks Rei if that is okay, and reluctantly Rei tells him to simply get them out of his sight. Senpai then asks why the other vampire didn't stop his friend, before inquiring into the two-day class students who are passed out. Kaguya explains that she'll make sure they are brought to the chairman to have their memories modified so that they forget the incident. Her Senpai apologizes to her and tells her that he hopes the event didn't bring up any unpleasant memories, but she assures him she's fine and for him not to worry. It's with that Senpai and the other two boys depart.

- With the biggest frown ever, Rei grabs her by the wrist before sliding his tie off. He wraps her injury up, before telling her that they should go, because they still have the girls to deal with. And also, because the place smells too strongly of blood.

- Time skips forward again. She's showered and clean, now, and drying her hair after a shower.... when suddenly without knocking Rei enters the room. Protesting because he walked in she demands to know what he's doing in there, but he tells her that the shower dorms are closed until dawn so she can stuff it. Only to add further insult to injury by telling her that it's not like he'd want to look at her anyway. Almost immediately she picks up the nearest object and tosses it at his head at the same time he suddenly starts stripping. Ruffled, she tells him that he can't just come inside and start stripping in front of her because she's still a girl. Of course, he makes a face and she reads his thoughts. 'No, you're not'... clearly he can be a jerk. Hmph.

- Rei leans over her and sniffs, and she stiffens, uncomfortable, and asking what he's doing. He says he can't smell the blood anymore and she tells him to shut up...of course, it's stopped bleeding already. She jokes that if it were like the legends, she'd turn into a vampire... but then goes on to wonder why her blood seems to be unusually appealing to vampires... after all, she had been attacked all those years ago, too. He tells her how should he know about such a thing, and she agrees, before brightly telling him that from now on she'll be careful. And anyway, she's the guardian of the day and night class, so no matter how much blood a vampire drinks, she'll survive. He... simply turns his back to her on that note, though, and leaves... which is where the memory dies off.

Commentary:
- The night class sure is popular
- Rei doesn't seem to like Senpai... or vampires.
- So the place is called Cross Academy and there is a Day and Night Class
- Night Class is vampires!
- Drinking blood on school grounds is prohibited
- I have a weapon!! So does Rei...
- The chairman needs a new desk
- I rock at jumping off of high story buildings
- Sweet blood?
- That sucks, I get detention a lot
- Rei and I bicker a lot too

- Rei was adopted by the chairman too? Or at least the chairman has custody...

Effects: She's a little confused on her relationship to Rei. It seems they live together... although on academy grounds they might be sleeping in dorms. She's also confused because Rei's a vampire but he seems to really hate vampires here. It gives her a better understanding of the school, though, in general.
